The route
Loads depart from our Centurion base and run north on the N1 through Polokwane and Musina to the Beitbridge border post, then on the A6 and A4 through Bubi and Masvingo into Harare. Indicative one-way distance is around 1,120 km.
Driving time on this corridor is rarely the constraint. Clearance at Beitbridge is. Queues at the post swing between a couple of hours and well over a day depending on the season, and the December and Easter peaks are consistently the worst. We quote transit as a range for that reason, and we tell you where the truck actually is rather than repeating the original estimate.

Customs documentation is lodged ahead of arrival so the truck joins the commercial queue with a complete file. Incomplete paperwork is the most common cause of a multi-day delay on this route, and it is almost entirely avoidable.
